Description

Our $10MM+ nonprofit client provides financial and leadership development support to social entrepreneurs. Its Finance Team is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by
controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating with teams across the organization.

Job duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
  •  Oversee accounting operations
  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
    • including preparing accruals and other journal entries and coordination with finance colleagues
    • assisting with monthly and quarterly cash flow reporting
  • Prepares leading schedules and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Manages all tax and regulatory reporting requirements (990, 1099, W2 and CHAR500, etc.)
  • Tracking and reporting of restricted funds
    • analyze revenue and expense to ensure they are recorded appropriately
  • Audit preparation
  • Payroll processing and reconcile payroll to general ledger
  • Analyzes pledges and AR aging
  • Prepare and review various balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyze various general ledger and balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of financial statements, 990 tax return and various grant reporting
  • Special projects and ad hoc analyses
  • Participate in continuing education classes with the intent to grow as an individual and to impart new knowledge to the service unit
Candidate Requirements:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year institution
  • 5+ years relevant and progressive non-profit accounting experience
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work with ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
  • Self-starter who is highly adaptable and dependable
  • Experience working in organizations with international focus
  • Proficiency in Fund E-Z and Microsoft Office is required.
